Today I received a copy of Metal Hurlant magazine from France (Merci Maman ;-), a special Daft Punk issue, and in doing so I reinforced the links between Japan, Daft Punk, Comics/Manga/Anime and... me, hehe.

Being the same age as the 2 robots, it was inevitable that we shared some major pop culture elements of our childhood.
They just got (really) closer to the roots thanks to their talent, when they worked with Matsumoto Leiji on Discovery.

Recently I read that the robots will become Lego minifigures too. I guess it was meant to be!

And let's not forget where the Japan/Daft Punk connection may have started, even before their birth: the weird, exotic, very freely Japan-influenced musical project Yamasuki (I like the mountain?), led by Jean Kluger & Daniel Vangarde, who is none other than the father of Thomas Bangalter.

Last photo: a large poster I bought a couple of years ago at a grandma shop in Obi (!).
Art by Matsumoto-san for an advertisement.
