Samurai Factory
2008/12/30
As I said in a previous article, the company I am working for, Samurai Factory, moved from Ikebukuro to Shibuya. So Monday was our last day in the office of the year but also our first day in the new office.
So let's go for a visit!
The office is in a brand new building at the fifth floor. We have a quite special entrance for visitors. Once you open the door you are in a dark room that makes you feel you're coming into a cinema theater. The name of the company is projected on the wall, nice effect.
Then you reach the wafu style (wafu : 和風 : could be translated as Traditional Japanese Style) part of the office.
We had already in the previous office such a part, but this time it is bigger.
From here it's little bit like a movie studio...
Here are the meeting rooms :
Not quite usual, isn't it.
This kanji as you might know or guess, means Samurai.
This room makes me think of an onsen (温泉 : hot spring) :
The best one, I think : no we are not in an izakaya :
Then a secret ninja door opens to the 社長's (Shacho : boss) office :
View from his office, too bad we can't go outside, maybe a nice spot for BBQ...
Servers room, well just a few ones, Ninja Tools services are in a safe place in a data center.
An other meeting room for the employees ...hum...
Looks like a kindergarten. Most of the shaïn (社員 : employee) are young but not that much! With my 34 y.o I belong to the Ojisan group (the old guys ...)
The main office : open space, quite usual in Japan, we can find pros and cons about that.
I don't mind so much. It's just a little bit noisy sometimes.
Still messy, more stuff to unpack.
Direct view to the street :
Not so fancy...but anyway we are not here to spend our time on the window. I guess.
The lunch room :
But I usually prefer to take my lunch outside and have a short walk.
And the bar! Yes we have a bar.
Talking about bar, as it was our last day of "work" we enjoyed the Bonen Kai in the office. Bônen Kai, 忘年会, means something like "party to forget", it takes place at the end of the year.
So here are some shots before the "battle"...
Few beers.
Wine and others
But for the toast we had Moët et Chandon Champagne!
And for non drinker :
Some food :
between two drinks,
Of course no picture of what happened during the party! He he. Just can say it was not too crazy and had a good relax time.
See you in 2009!
