Almost forget the of my weekly Showa record. I can’t believe it is already a week passed. Anyway, this week a semi-experimental album by George Harrison. That was a soundtrack for a movie of the same name(I think) that I’ve never seen. I am pretty sure it was presented at Cannes film festival back then and he went for the premiere and support the movie. I definitely need to watch this movie, if I can ever find it that said. Also I bought this record in the early 90’s (as much of my collection) in a garage sale in Normandy. The blue label on the cover is the name of the original owner, I think me and my friends bought a fair number of vinyls from this person. 90’s were a golden age to buy great vinyls for cheap as everyone was getting rid of it to buy CDs. Probably got this one for like 10 francs (about 1.5€) 🍏

Lunch run and a few snapshots of retired shops (maybe the 1st one still operating). There are a lot like this in Obi, it is at the same time charming and a bit sad. It must have been a busy area in the 50’s to 70’s.

There is no mistake. At Muchang and Chikurin place we are still in 1970 or so :-) Which suits me perfectly! @yawara_ya is one of my favorite places. In their own style, they do the best pizza. We spent a great day. Good food, good drinks, and good music (when I am not playing 😅)

Small desk update. I needed a simple desk tray to sort my papers/ bills etc... and one on which I could put my speaker on top (as the other speaker at the other side of the desk.) I went for this rather cheap item from @nitori_official, it looks quite good I think, a good value for the money. There will be more (interesting) desk updates probably in December as for one I supported @keychron latest campaign on Kickstarter and will do my debut with a mechanical keyboard. After 20 years of typing on mainly mac keyboards it should be interesting to see if it is a revelation, a “meh” or a “no way”. Any mechanical keyboard users here?

Opened Slack and found out it was a holiday today (文化の日, culture day) and family was still sleeping so jumped on the bike for a short but pleasant autumnal ride 🍁🍂 and still ok in short bib/jersey ✌️

Well it happened, I forgot already that yesterday was my Showa record day of the week. Furthermore it was cultural day here in Japan(文化の日), what a missed opportunity... Well, to make up for it here is my belated selection : a gem from Brasil with this mythical album by Os Mutantes published in 1968 or Showa 43. My version of the record is a re-edition from 2009 by Polydor (but really Universal Music Enterprises) LPNG 44.018. It is simple, I like each tracks on this records. The creativity is incredible, the voices, the guitars and arrangements and general production make it a must have in your collection if you are into 60's pop/pysche, no barrier music.

From the mailbox to the desk, The forecast magazine published by Monocle magazine’s editors. Living in the countryside/small town I have zero access to english (or french) reading at the local newspapers kiosk so I first subscribed few years ago to Monocle and each month I have some news of the world, I choose it because it is a different kind of info that you get from the internet. And a different pace to absorb it. Moreover it goes well with a good cup/mug of tea. Already Friday, I can not believe it. Will we know who is going to lead the world today ? Will he be a leader ?

Good morning! an other great automnal day here, blue sky and warm (well, in day time). Quick shot of the office, I am not showing all I could because still bit of a mess outside the frame😅 おはようございます!また最高な秋の日です。明るいし暖かい。本当に気持ちいい。 オフィスの現状写真です。こんな状態で仕事するのは楽しいです。部屋は全部見せれないけど、片付けないといけないです😅

26°C outside, the office is turning into a greenhouse, working opened windows and still in my shorts t-shirts! Definitely a warm autumn here!

This week was my birthday and we went to a yakiniku restaurant nearby our home. Nice old style place, then I noticed this poster... I had seen it somewhere just few days earlier. Checked my feeds and yep no mistake it was in @wakametamago ‘s feed! Funny coincidence.

Unplanned desk “upgrade”. Last friday my keyboard died on me, suddenly without any warning... that was a fairly cheap Buffalo I also bought as an emergency when my apple one died (after almost 10 years!) a couple of years ago. So I went to the local store and acquired this Logitech/cool. That upset me a bit because I supported the @keychron kickstarter and should receive a shinny keyboard around christmas... At least this logicool will serve me as back-up and we can use it with the ipad later so not too much of a loss.

If there is a pair of shoes that represents the world showa era if I may say, this a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars! They barely changed since their creation in the late 1920’s! My dad played basketball with them in the sixties and seventies (with 2 pairs of socks, that was the trick, he used to say) and I have always had a pair since I could. In the 90’s when I was a student they were out of fashion and super cheap. Not related the cool guitar behind is not mine but Mu Chang aka @yawara_ya ‘s one. That is a Aria Pro II M series, product of the 90’s despite its retro look. And he plays some cool psyche rock with it. Stay tuned, record is in the making! Other pic, our boy wondering what’s wrong with his parents 😅

So busy recently I have not had any time to upload much here. Ok, my boy is still a baby but glad I have some French records here I’ll be able to share with him. Jean-Michel Caradec died young but he let us some great recordings. This album is full of what we could call children songs but they are much more than just that. I think he is one of the artist we don’t have to be ashamed of. (and believe me France is full of this...) He was a great song writer and people who helped him to arrange and produce were talented too. So here you go for some French showa era music (1976)

Office is a mess. Trying to find a presentable angle to show my minimal Christmas decoration 😅 I wish you a pleasant Christmas eve. As pleasant as it can be considering you know what. Here, today and tomorrow are business days as usual, but I’ll have a good week of holidays after. My first “paied” holidays in a long time as I recently stopped freelancing and started to work again as an employee. I am greatful I found a company that embraces modern working style and all employees work remotely (even before you know what)

I did not know posca marker were that fun, never to old to learn I guess. I wish you all a (psychedelic) Joyeux Noël!

Got my new “old dude” spectacles with progressive lenses. I went for a classic style, my previous pair was all black so now dark brown with a subtle pattern. Almost feeling like a responsible adult, almost ;-)
